What if the best Mixed Martial Arts fighter had to fight the best boxer, under the rules of boxing?

What would be the result if the best MMA fighter fought the bext boxer of the same weight, and the fight was under the tradional rules of boxing?

And…

What would be the result if the best boxer was to fight the best MMA fighter of the same weight class, under the rules of Mixed Martial Arts fighting?

I think it would be very interesting.

What do you think the results of these fights would be?

This is a no brainer, think about.

Boxers train…… boxing, they are unrivaled at that.

MMA fighters train…… MMA, they are unrivaled at that.

The boxer would typically dominate the MMA fighter on boxing rules, depending on the MMA fighter, if he’s a striking specialist he might have a chance to win against the boxer.

The MMA fighter would absolutely DESTROY the boxer with MMA rules, there are so many things the boxer is unfamiliar with….. kicks, takedowns, and grappling in general.

Boxer would win under boxing rules, but when it comes to MMA rules of course you know who will win.

Take down / leg kicks / submission, it’s over for the boxer.

The boxer will win, too much experience and training boxing, to much power and speed on his feet, not having to worry about kicks or takedowns the boxer will be completly in his element. Although I believe the MMA fighter has a better chance of holding his own in boxing then boxers holding there own in MMA

MMA fighter in both. Because mma gloves are smaller then boxing gloves, mma fighters have a way better face defense then a boxer. Also mma fighters have more stamina then boxers.

If a mma fighter can last 5 rounds with punching, kicking, going for subimission moves and take downs without gassing. Just think what they would do in a boxing match if all they had to do was throw punches.

first off i hate these questions because boxing and mma are two different sports its like comparing apples and oranges it does make sense that a boxer would win in a boxing match an a mma fighter would win in a mma match y do people ask when the answer is just common sense

    its very simple……

boxer wins in a boxing match

    mma fighter wins mma match

you can’t compare the two. its apples and oranges.

Sorry but I don’t think it would be interesting at all.

In MMA you have to square your body up more to prep for leg kicks and you can’t have all of the head movement, bobbing and weaving because that leaves you vulnerable to a take down because you have to be heavy on the feet for that.

Boxer’s it is just opposite which leaves them open to leg kicks and take downs in an MMA event.

This is just the basics, but even the best boxer against and average MMA guy would get taken down and worked. But the best MMA guy against an average boxer I feel would do much better.

    Boxer wins in boxing.

    MMA wins in MMA.

    End of Story
