The Cage – Maxine (Rick Barrett, Martin T. Roberts, and Pat Jordan)

2 The Cage Maxine (Rick Barrett, Martin T. Roberts, and Pat Jordan)I wrote the majority of my songs about real people and events in my life, but this one is fiction ala the Twilight Zone. Written in the first person point of view, the young man in the song is sick of telling his buddies he doesn’t have a girlfriend…so he makes one up and he tells his friends her name is Maxine…she has black hair, green eyes, and is 17 (it should be noted that I was 19 or 20 when I wrote this song lest anyone think I wrote it last week or even at the age of 40…which was the age I was in this video). Anyway, our character kind of kind of goes off the mental deep end at the end and I always assumed as his friends begin to doubt him that Maxine becomes real in his mind and he really begins to believe she exists…though lyrically it doesn’t specifically support this I suppose.

And if you allowed to admit that you like one of the lines of your own songs, if for no other reason that is much different than all of the other lines of all your other songs, than I have to admit that I always liked the line “Her black high heels are clacking on the hard wooden floor”…this is mysteriousness from a youthful point of view…my youthful point of view…

I always thought the most interesting thing about the punk/new wave movement as that the songwriters had kind of beginning, youthful period, like The Beatles, The Who, The Kinks, etc…whereas a lot of corporate rock crap on the radio in the late 70s and early 80s STARTED from a middle period point of view…now I am not saying punk and new wave songs are better than the corporate rock of that time period (ok I am) partly because of this but we (the other members of The Cage and the bands around us) were drawing from this youthful period and writing about girls and strange things and we were fighting the urge to write the grand songs that were supposed to save the world…not that we didn’t try to save to world on occasion as Marty (aka Martin T. Roberts) tried to do in “Nuclear Waste” but we were “on our back porch drinking a beer” in the same song…

I am not sure what my point is, but I think it has something to do with not being able to A) “getting away” with writing a song like this at my age of 48, B) reflecting on the fact that I was aware of even at the time that I had to go with songs like these at this age and not to over think them and C) you could promise me the definitive meaning of life, world peace, and a zillion dollars and I don’t think I would be able to write a song again like this again in the remainder of this earthly life.

After writing this I took a drive to Drug Mart to buy an appliance light bulb for the fridge, the Talking Heads’ “Road To Nowhere” was strangely, almost blaring from the Drug Mart speakers, and here as I tried to match the bulb in my pocket with the corresponding one on the shelf I reflected on the fact that since I have spent most of life hopping from girl to girl and then woman to woman, with very little alone time in between, that this song about the uncomfortableness of being alone from my youth has more to do with me that I ever had time to think about…

THE CAGE is (from left to right):
Martin T. Roberts – bass
Pat Jordan – drums
Rick Barrett – electric guitar and vocals

Kimbo Slice Knocked Out by Seth Petruzelli – Full Video

2 Kimbo Slice Knocked Out by Seth Petruzelli Full Videohttp://www.GamesInsane.com – Kimbo Slice Knocked Out by Seth Petruzelli in 14 seconds. This was Kimbo’s first loss

Kevin Ferguson (born on February 8, 1974), better known as Kimbo Slice, is a Miami, Florida-based street fighter turned mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter. He first appeared in several filmed underground fights which have spread primarily on the Internet. Kimbo has since left street fighting behind and is now putting his efforts towards becoming a professional mixed martial arts fighter. Rolling Stone called Slice “The King of the Web Brawlers”

Kimbo Slice began his career in unsanctioned street fights. A notable street fight was with Sean Gannon, a former Boston Police officer who trains in MMA. In a brutal fight Kimbo lost for the first time. [6] The popularity of the fight, which was distributed throughout the internet, propelled both men into the MMA spotlight.

To prepare for sanctioned MMA fights, Slice was trained by retired MMA fighter Bas Rutten. Slice made his sanctioned MMA debut against former WBO Heavyweight champion boxer Ray Mercer at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 5, in Atlantic City on June 23, 2007. The match was scheduled as a three-round exhibition utilizing all professional rules of MMA combat. Slice defeated Mercer with a guillotine choke at 1:12 into the first round.[7] In a post-fight interview, Slice stated that he would like to fight David “Tank” Abbott. Abbott, who was a spectator, stood up from his seat and accepted the call out. One of the matchmakers for CFFC asked Slice for his assurance so that an October 12 bout at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 6 between Slice and “Tank” Abbott could be organized. This event was later canceled due to a promotion dispute. On October 11, 2007, ProElite announced that they had signed Slice to a deal and that he would make his debut on the November 10, 2007 EliteXC.[8] Originally set to make his professional MMA debut against Mike Bourke, the reformed street fighter was set to face Bo Cantrell after Bourke sustained a shoulder injury.[9] Kimbo defeated Cantrell 19 seconds into the first round by submission due to strikes.

Slice will be featured on The Iron Ring, a new television series airing on BET which features MMA prospects. Slice will be a part of the selection process for the participants.[10]

On February 16, 2008, Kimbo fought Tank Abbott in the main event at EliteXC: Street Certified. He won by KO 43 seconds into the first round due to strikes. At the fight his weight was announced at an all-time low of 234lbs, a far cry from his street fighting days of 280lbs.

On May 31, 2008, Kimbo fought in the main event of the first ever mixed martial arts event shown on prime time network television, EliteXC: Primetime. Though one of the judges had each fighter winning one of the first two rounds, Kimbo’s opponent James Thompson won both on total points by repeatedly taking down Slice and grounding and pounding. In the opening seconds of the third round, however, Kimbo threw a haymaker to Thompson’s left ear, which ruptured Thompson’s cauliflower. This was soon followed by three unanswered punches to a standing Thompson, which led to a referee stoppage and a controversial win for Slice. Fellow EliteXC competitor Brett Rogers was particularly critical of Slice’s victory, calling Slice’s performance “garbage” in a post fight interview.

A Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock fight was signed for October 4, 2008 to take place at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida as part of CBS’ “Saturday Night Fights”. Seth Petruzelli replaced Shamrock due to a cut to the left eye during warm ups only hours before the fight was to take place. Petruzelli defeated Slice by TKO 14 seconds into the bout.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep – Ventus – Mirage Arena – Boss: Iron Imprisoner IV

2 Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Ventus Mirage Arena Boss: Iron Imprisoner IVWATCH IN 480P! ——— Information and Boss Guide in Description ———

——–Keepers of the Arena———
Unlocked by: Reach Arena Level 20
Battle level: 5 stars
General reward: 500 Arena Medals
Terra reward: Ultima Cannon
Ven reward: Multivortex
Aqua reward: Lightbloom

This is me fighting the second and final boss from the twelfth Mirage Arena Stage, Keepers of the Arena.

My difficulty is Proud Mode. I was level 47 for this fight.

Here’s a short boss guide:

This is one of the hardest fights in the game. I am very lucky to have beaten him on my first try, but keep in mind I’m level 47 here and all of my abilities are maxed. Here’s a list of abilities I recommend equipping before attempting this boss.
- 1 or more Curaga spells, or you can use Sacrifice or Faith if playing as Ventus.
- Slide/Dodge Roll/Cartwheel. It’s not a good idea to equip ‘upgraded’ versions of these, because you aren’t immune to damage while using those.
- Once More and Second Chance.
- Damage Syphon.
- Renewal Block / Renewal Barrier.
- Fire Screen.
- A strong Shotlock. I’m using Bio Barrage here because I wanted to try it, but the range isn’t so great. My favorite Shotlock besides Multivortex is Absolute Zerom and I’d recommend using it.

Now on to the boss fight:
The underground, cage and fire spin attacks are the same as the first three versions of Iron Imprisoner. The best times to shotlock are right after his spin, as he is summoning the cage, and right after he comes out from underground. It’s usually fairly easy to shotlock right after he’s done with his teleporting attack. You can also get a shotlock out (if you’re lucky) as he is charging up for his explosive combo. This is pretty dangerous to do.
The Iron Imprisoner will often turn black and do an explosive attack, then charge at you with a combo. You can block the first hit of this and counter, but this time he will not be stunned so back off. As soon as the attack is over, dash away because he’s probably going to spin.
The Iron Imprisoner will try another attack where he teleports at a point near the edge of the room and sucks you in. This is his least dangerous attack and it does little damage, but you will be incapacitated most of the time he’s doing this. Keep your Curaga spell at the ready and be ready for his next attack.
The final attack you have to worry about is where the Iron Imprisoner disappears and the room turns red. Pieces of the walls will start flying at you. During this time you need to be rolling/dashing/cartwheeling constantly to avoid as much damage as possible. Be ready to shotlock when this is over.

Once you have all these attacks down, it’s just a matter of using shotlocks and the right time and surviving in between shotlocks. Also remember that his Fire Spin attack is considered as a single combo, no matter how many times you get hit, so if you have Once More equipped like you should, just mash square and do your best to get away if you get hit. Good luck.

This was played on my God of War edition PSP2000.

Cage The Elephant – Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked(lyrics)

2 Cage The Elephant Aint No Rest For The Wicked(lyrics)Cage The Elephant – Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked lyrics:

I was walking down the street,
When out the corner of my eye
I saw a pretty little thing approaching me.
She said “I’ve never seen a man
Who looks so all alone,
Could you use a little company?

If you can pay the right price
Your evening will be nice,
And you can go and send me on my way.”
I said “You’re such a sweet young thing
Why you do this to yourself?”
She looked at me and this is what she said:

“Oh, there ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Money don’t grow on trees.
I got bills to pay,
I got mouths to feed,
There ain’t nothing in this world for free.
I know I can’t slow down,
I can’t hold back,
Though you know, I wish I could.
No there ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Until we close our eyes for good”.

Not even fifteen minutes later
I’m still walking down the street,
When I saw a shadow of a man creep out of sight.
And then he sweeps up from behind
And puts a gun up to my head,
He made it clear he wasn’t looking for a fight.

He said “Give me all you’ve got
I want your money not your life,
But if you try to make a move I won’t think twice.”
I go like “You can have my cash
But first you know I got to ask
What made you want to live this kind of life?”

He said “There ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Money don’t grow on trees.
I got bills to pay,
I got mouths to feed,
There ain’t nothing in this world for free.
I know I can’t slow down,
I can’t hold back,
Though you know, I wish I could.
No there ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Until we close our eyes for good”.

Now a couple hours have passed
And I was sitting at my house,
The day was winding down and coming to an end.
So I turned on the TV
And flipped it over to the news,
And what I saw I almost couldn’t comprehend.

I saw a preacher man in cuffs he’d taken money from the church,
He stuffed his bank account with righteous dollar bills.
But even still I can’t say much
Because I know we’re all the same,
oh yes we all seek out to satisfy those thrills

“Oh, there ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Money don’t grow on trees.
We got bills to pay,
We got mouths to feed,
There ain’t nothing in this world for free.
I know we can’t slow down,
We can’t hold back,
Though you know, we wish we could.
No there ain’t no rest for the wicked,
Until we close our eyes for good”

Lyrics:
This is for the one, who lies in on a Sunday
Rave so hard miss work on a Monday
For the thug whose living life grungy
Beef on the street but he thinks lifes lovely.
For the chick whose chasing her dreams
Never happy with her face or waist in the jeans
For the ghetto chick blazing the green
For the mothers with kids at the age of eighteen.

Navigator:
Young thug, hold up, Ill address the issue
I aint hear to battle or rattle your cage or dis you
But you know when I grab the mic to spit dude
I WILL spit flames and they may just lick you
I may just hit you right where it hurts
Cos the light exposes a life full of dirt
You might be a flirt and hit with the chicks
But God sees you stare at her butt licking your lips
You need to fix up quickly
So what? Your 306 is nifty
I dont care what braes are shifty
Stop fighting, warfare is sickly
Dont wanna see you spreading your beef
Heart heavy, weighed down like lead in your feet
God loves you man you can head for relief
Or be another bluh bluh bluh, dead in the street.
Chorus
Sammy G:
This is for the yout who knows about lyrics, writes two pages in fifteen minutes/
Bear gimmicks, none of its tight he just mimics/
Other rappers straight down to the image/
Never seen a gun still he says that he buss one/
Diamond encrustin his rhymes when he spits them bars/
Says Ive come from ghetto, life used to be hard/
But there aint nothin ghetto about his mums yard!/
She pays the Bills, his inputs minimal/
You cant have a Bentley without a provisional/
Seriously, why so many toots wanna be criminals?/
Aint nothin pretty bout prison, really!/
Clearly they dont see what keepin it real is/
Pear kids wanna live reckless and fearless/
Hear this, for real its not what lifes like/
Why not represent Christ and live life Christ like?

Chorus
Phonetix
This ones for the rude boys sitting in the back of a Nova
Every 10 minutes and youre getting pulled over
White middle class but you talk like a Rasta
Rolling on hubcaps your mom bought from Asda
Smoke weed and you say youre a dealer
Buy all your stuff from a homeless geezer
Sell a little bit to your friend for a reefer
Saving up your cash for a trip to Ibiza
Youve got a camera phone you like to show
Cant afford a contract though youre on pay as you go
Filmed a beating so you think youre the man
But youre so stupid you happy slapped your own Nan
Please bro I think its time you grew up
Before the crown court labels you another screw up
Bring the best raps your filthy little mind can stew up
(Yeah) I bring the gospel and merk your whole crew up
Chorus
