This is me fighting the second and final boss from the twelfth Mirage Arena Stage, Keepers of the Arena.

My difficulty is Proud Mode. I was level 47 for this fight.

Here’s a short boss guide:

This is one of the hardest fights in the game. I am very lucky to have beaten him on my first try, but keep in mind I’m level 47 here and all of my abilities are maxed. Here’s a list of abilities I recommend equipping before attempting this boss.
- 1 or more Curaga spells, or you can use Sacrifice or Faith if playing as Ventus.
- Slide/Dodge Roll/Cartwheel. It’s not a good idea to equip ‘upgraded’ versions of these, because you aren’t immune to damage while using those.
- Once More and Second Chance.
- Damage Syphon.
- Renewal Block / Renewal Barrier.
- Fire Screen.
- A strong Shotlock. I’m using Bio Barrage here because I wanted to try it, but the range isn’t so great. My favorite Shotlock besides Multivortex is Absolute Zerom and I’d recommend using it.

Now on to the boss fight:
The underground, cage and fire spin attacks are the same as the first three versions of Iron Imprisoner. The best times to shotlock are right after his spin, as he is summoning the cage, and right after he comes out from underground. It’s usually fairly easy to shotlock right after he’s done with his teleporting attack. You can also get a shotlock out (if you’re lucky) as he is charging up for his explosive combo. This is pretty dangerous to do.
The Iron Imprisoner will often turn black and do an explosive attack, then charge at you with a combo. You can block the first hit of this and counter, but this time he will not be stunned so back off. As soon as the attack is over, dash away because he’s probably going to spin.
The Iron Imprisoner will try another attack where he teleports at a point near the edge of the room and sucks you in. This is his least dangerous attack and it does little damage, but you will be incapacitated most of the time he’s doing this. Keep your Curaga spell at the ready and be ready for his next attack.
The final attack you have to worry about is where the Iron Imprisoner disappears and the room turns red. Pieces of the walls will start flying at you. During this time you need to be rolling/dashing/cartwheeling constantly to avoid as much damage as possible. Be ready to shotlock when this is over.

Once you have all these attacks down, it’s just a matter of using shotlocks and the right time and surviving in between shotlocks. Also remember that his Fire Spin attack is considered as a single combo, no matter how many times you get hit, so if you have Once More equipped like you should, just mash square and do your best to get away if you get hit.
