Mortal Kombat is a movie franchise that has been missing one thing – the blood and guts that we all loved from the video games.
Now it looks as if we’re going to finally get the rated ‘R’ reboot we fans deserve. Kotaku has the first look at the Mortal Kombat test video shot for Warner Brothers to get funding for a full blown hard ‘R’ MK movie. Yes, this is the direction they plan on going for the Mortal Kombat reboot. And I’ve got the exclusive goods on who played who.
* The short was directed by Kevin Tancharoen, who did the remake of Fame last year. Judging from this short, Kevin is the perfect director for this movie.
* Jacks is played by Michael Jai White. Michael played Spawn and was in Undisputed II. Michael makes a great Jacks (Jax).
* Sonya Blade is played by Jeri Ryan, who played Seven of Nine in Star Trek: Voyager.
* Baraka was played by the very talented Lateef Crowder, who plays the Brazilian fighter in Undisputed III.
* Scorpion is played by Ian Anthony Dale. Ian plays Kazuya in the upcoming big screen version of Tekken.
* Johnny Cage was played by up and coming martial arts sensation Matt Mullins.
* Still working on who played Reptile. Will update when I find out.
* The fight choreography was done by Larnell Stovall. Larnell did the fight choreography for Undisputed III and is one of the best fight choreographers in the business. You want to see the fights you deserve? Then you fans should DEMAND he be the guy in one charge for this reboot.
* I know who might be playing Sub-Zero, but don’t want to mention it in case it screws something up. He’d be perfect for the part.

Citizen soldiers by 3 Doors Down with clips from The World Trade Center and real footage from news and civilian cameras of 911. Also theres a part with some fighting at the end. This is dedicated to everyone who died as result of 911, the first responders (firefighters, police, paramedics etc.), and everyone serving in the military (national guard, army, navy, airforce,special forces, and the soldiers from other countries helping out).

UFC 2010 Undisputed is an upcoming mixed martial arts video game featuring Ultimate Fighting Championship properties and fighters. It is scheduled for release on May 25, 2010. A first look of the game was shown on December 12, 2009 at the Spike Video Game Awards, while showing the first look at Ultimate Fighter participant, Kimbo Slice. Along with Slice are numerous newly added fighters to comply with the previous list from the 2009 version of the game. 2010 will also have a more “professional” type feel featuring inverted submissions, using the cage walls of the octagon to pressure your opponent, southpaw stances and a polished ground game with more capabilities for more advanced grappling.The Cage – Maxine (Rick Barrett, Martin T. I wrote the majority of my songs about real people and events in my life, but this one is fiction ala the Twilight Zone. Written in the first person point of view, the young man in the song is sick of telling his buddies he doesn’t have a girlfriend…so he makes one up and he tells his friends her name is Maxine…she has black hair, green eyes, and is 17 (it should be noted that I was 19 or 20 when I wrote this song lest anyone think I wrote it last week or even at the age of 40…which was the age I was in this video). Anyway, our character kind of kind of goes off the mental deep end at the end and I always assumed as his friends begin to doubt him that Maxine becomes real in his mind and he really begins to believe she exists…though lyrically it doesn’t specifically support this I suppose.
And if you allowed to admit that you like one of the lines of your own songs, if for no other reason that is much different than all of the other lines of all your other songs, than I have to admit that I always liked the line “Her black high heels are clacking on the hard wooden floor”…this is mysteriousness from a youthful point of view…my youthful point of view…
I always thought the most interesting thing about the punk/new wave movement as that the songwriters had kind of beginning, youthful period, like The Beatles, The Who, The Kinks, etc…whereas a lot of corporate rock crap on the radio in the late 70s and early 80s STARTED from a middle period point of view…now I am not saying punk and new wave songs are better than the corporate rock of that time period (ok I am) partly because of this but we (the other members of The Cage and the bands around us) were drawing from this youthful period and writing about girls and strange things and we were fighting the urge to write the grand songs that were supposed to save the world…not that we didn’t try to save to world on occasion as Marty (aka Martin T. Roberts) tried to do in “Nuclear Waste” but we were “on our back porch drinking a beer” in the same song…
I am not sure what my point is, but I think it has something to do with not being able to A) “getting away” with writing a song like this at my age of 48, B) reflecting on the fact that I was aware of even at the time that I had to go with songs like these at this age and not to over think them and C) you could promise me the definitive meaning of life, world peace, and a zillion dollars and I don’t think I would be able to write a song again like this again in the remainder of this earthly life.
After writing this I took a drive to Drug Mart to buy an appliance light bulb for the fridge, the Talking Heads’ “Road To Nowhere” was strangely, almost blaring from the Drug Mart speakers, and here as I tried to match the bulb in my pocket with the corresponding one on the shelf I reflected on the fact that since I have spent most of life hopping from girl to girl and then woman to woman, with very little alone time in between, that this song about the uncomfortableness of being alone from my youth has more to do with me that I ever had time to think about…

This is footage of an actual fight club held in Hawaii sometime in 1996. A copy of this tape had to be obtained illegally so it could be exposed online. These brutal prize fights are still being held to this day, sometimes with participants who were kidnapped and forced to take part in them.
