Western Tai Chi Ch’uan: Pugilistic Form and Illusive Fighting
Angel’s Gym anounces that this video is the first collaboration with a student of the Zhong Ding Associations Grandmaster Nigel Sutton. Jr. Mead shared this rare remix of Bob Marley’s “Sun is Coming” after recieving laudations from the Gym’s owner for his Tai Chi presentation that can be found in the channels favorites.

Western Tai Chi Ch’uan is a recognized style of Internal Martial Arts by the American Tai Chi and Qigong Association and the World Martial Arts College. The evolution is from the Yang Cheng Fu ineage. Western Tai Chi Ch’uan has Five major forms: The Basic Form, The Chi Kung Silat Boxing Form, The Combat Short & Long Forms. The first demonstrates an interpretation of Master Feng’s 13 Strategies. The second demonstrates the integration of those strategies as they pertain to the application of the Five Character Secret to the practice of Chi Kung, Kun Tao Silat and Western Boxing. The third provides a direct application of the 13 strategies to traditional pushhands training and the fourth presents an Western Interpretation of Eastern Internal Martial Art Strategy and Western External Martial Art Tactics.
This video presents portions of the Dance of Life being applied to the first discipline taught at Angel’s Gym: Western Boxing. In Angel’s Gym we are strikers during the four transitions of Mixed Martial Arts Training: Standup, Clinching, Takedown, Ground. It is said that Form practices are the Kung Fu of knowing Self and that the Fighting practices are the Kung Fu of Knowing Others. This video presents the most basic and the most cherished of skill integration a Striker can posess in the search for internal and external, energy and power: Tai Chi Strategic and Boxing Tactical Skills!
